Instructions
  1. Cut a fresh croissant in half and brown it in a toaster, oven, or air fryer.
  2. At this time, cut the tomatoes and cheese into thin slices
  3. Spread both halves generously with pesto sauce, and lay out the tomatoes and cheese slices alternately
  4. Salt and pepper the tomatoes and cheese to taste, and drizzle a few drops of balsamic vinegar on top
  5. Cover the filling with the other half of the croissant, add greens and a few basil leaves before serving, and enjoy while the croissant is crispy and everything is super fresh!
Notes
  • Instead of a croissant, you can use bread, pita, tortillas, or plain bread — whatever suits your preference and what you have available at home.

  • Pesto sauce can be easily prepared at home by chopping basil leaves, cashew nuts (or pine nuts), lemon juice, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and oil, or you can use your preferred store-bought sauce.

  • It tastes best when the croissant is still hot and crispy.
