Equipment
- Ceramic Baking DishBuy
Ingredients
- Tortillas (corn or any other flavor) 8-10 pcs
- Chicken meat (thighs or breast) 400-450 g
- Bell Peppers (in different colors) 1-2 pcs
- Onion 1 pc
- Dried paprika 1 tsp
- Tumeric 1 tsp
- Dried oregano 1 tsp
- Curry 1 tsp
- Salt / Pepper to taste
- Processed cheese (sliced, for sandwiches) 4-5 pcs
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded) 100-200 g
- Olive oil for frying
- Green (parsley) sour cream, guacamole to serve
Instructions
- Cut the meat, bell pepper, and onion into strips or small cubes. If the cheese isn't grated, grate it using a fine grater
- Heat the pan and add oil. Fry the chicken over medium heat until lightly browned
- Next, add the chopped vegetables and spices. Stir well to combine
- For added richness, place slices of melted cheese on top, cover with a lid and simmer for 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are tender and fully cooked
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (220°C) and grease your baking dish with oil, if desired
- Once cooked, mix the vegetable-meat filling. Using a spoon or tongs, place a small amount of the filling in the center of each tortilla, arranging them side by side
- Generously sprinkle each tortilla with grated cheese, then bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the crust is golden brown
- For extra flavor, sprinkle the tacos with chopped fresh herbs and serve hot with sour cream or guacamole. Ketchup also works, if you prefer!
Notes
You can use any meat and choose your favorite spices to suit your taste.
I recommend using regular flour tortillas for the best flavor, as they taste better than corn or other varieties.
If you don’t have small tortillas, you can easily cut small circles from pita bread using whatever tools you have.
Feel free to use any cheese you have on hand.
Serve the tacos hot with sour cream or guacamole—they taste the best!
If you end up with leftover filling, you can make a quesadilla with larger pita bread, or serve it as a side dish—it will taste amazing.
Even reheating these tacos in the oven, microwave, or Air Fryer the next day won’t affect the flavor—they’ll still taste just as good as fresh!
