Instructions
- In a medium bowl, use an immersion blender (or any other blender) to blend the berries and overripe banana until completely smooth
- Stir in the chia seeds, mix well, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until the mixture sets
- Once the mixture has thickened, use a pastry bag to fill silicone molds of any shape with the berry mixture. Place them in the freezer for several hours until fully frozen
- Melt the chocolate in short bursts in the microwave or over a water bath. Add the oil and stir until smooth
- Dip each frozen candy into the chocolate mixture, one at a time, and place them on a prepared plate or tray
- Leave the candies in the refrigerator for a few minutes to allow the filling to soften, then enjoy your dessert
Notes
-
It’s best to use the ripest bananas possible, as they will make the candies naturally sweeter.
-
You can customize the berry mix to suit your taste—the candies will still be delicious, even if made with strawberries.
-
Any silicone mold will work for these candies; I used ice cube molds for mine.
-
To make it easier to remove and dip the candies in chocolate, insert toothpicks or small sticks (like coffee stirrers) into them before freezing, depending on the size of the candies.
-
The berry mixture can be prepared in advance. When ready to serve, simply melt the chocolate and make fresh candies in portions.
